Another of the problem is the fact Americans don't vote. We have one of the lowest voter turnout records of all developed countries.

No one in their right mind would want the job! No matter what you do or say, around 50% of the people you represent are going to be steaming mad at you. And if you compromise, half of each 50% will still hate you.

Con men are good at what they do. He may be a dismal failure as President and as a human being but he knew which buttons to push and how to switch positions without blinking. For example his "wall" came out of a casual comment at a speech that got his goober-base drooling. He's happy to stoke the bigotry within the righties than "normal" Republicans only whispered about. We may be repelled by the racists and nazis he embraces but we have to remember he didn't create them, he merely made them comfortable to be public about it.
Well I think one factor was the "Bernie or no one" crowd who refused to vote at all since their boy wasn't the nominee. Also the interference by Putin and .of course, Hilary made some big mistakes.
I repeatedly stated, when drumpy's nominations for the Suoreme Court were underway....in a land of probably half a zillion lawyers, judges, law professors, mediators, law writers, etc etc etc...THIS is the best we can come up with???
