Do you get as irritated and annoyed as I do by syrupy, saccharin, Pollyannaish people? I encounter fewer of these types since I now go out of my way to avoid "church folk", who are often the ones who come off this way. I'm not saying that everything needs to be sturm und drang or endlessly pessimistic, but perpetually chirpy and cheery people have me soon reaching for a barf bag. Recently a very religious friend of ours (actually, Daryl's ex-wife!) left a message on our answering machine that said (in a very high pitched, sing-song, oh so gooey voice), "Good morning Rob and Daryl's answering machine!!!" as though she were a greeter at a holy rollers' tent show. Ugh.
I've always suspected that the overly cheerful are in denial.
The answer is no .I appreciate friendly cheerful people especially here in NY
NO,it’s the unfriendly bastards I despise
I definitely agree.
I prefer these type of individuals rather than unfriendly sarcastic humorless snobs.
richiegtt:Wow a post about not liking cheery people and most of these Weirdos agree .Its pathetic
I agree insincerity can be annoying . But how do we know if they are insincere.Some individuals actually possess these over the top traits and this is who they really are.I know a few of them
I agree there. It’s that no substance at the back of what is being said that I get irked by.
Just be straight. I won’t ‘have a nice day’ some days and I have no intention of telling you ‘how my day has been’ and if you are genuine don’t look around the store while you ask the question.
Give me sturm und drang any day over this sanitised bollocks. Rage at your exploitation instead of meek, submissive acquiescence!
How do you feel about "Have a BLESSED DAYYYYYY!"? Makes me want to hurl!
@Winkiedink54 Yes...well...then, they'll TELL you...and I don't want to hear that shit.
