Ballard Fuel’s arguments about commercial vehicles making the transition to hydrogen.
[blog.ballard.com]
Tesla has battery improvements in progress that they say will reduce charge time, cost and weight, while increasing charging cycles to give a million miles of durability. Their existing batteries typically exceed 250,000 miles.
Working on hydrogen for transportation fuel is like searching for the holy grail, or looking for Nessie.
I have been hearing about this for 6 decades now. WTH not go with steam? They were far superior in speed/power, no emissions, clean. The only problem back then was the dreadful failures of the valves to regulate the pressures. (Insufficient technology). I am pretty sure (example: nuclear reactors) that real good valves are now readily available!
@ToolGuy tiny nuclear reactors? Mr. Fusion, No, wait, tiny diesel engines, or tiny trash burners would be even better, dismantle the entire garbage pickup/waste disposal/landfill megamonopoly!
Or, hey, natural/propane gas...my entire house is heated with propane ventless heaters, 99% efficient and no residue other than water vapor (on my RV it even powers the fridge.).....and rpropane refill places are everywhere already!
@ToolGuy like I said, my stoves (very cute & tiny, too!) emit water vapor, rated 99% efficient when I got them 25 years ago...(did I mention damn reliable & cheap on a per-use basis?? NO service calls, not one!)
