A man I particularly admire giving an excellent interview.

I still sincerely do not understand the public's delight at Snowden's act. The government has always been hiding something and will continue to hide it for the benefit of society or its use. The fact that we managed to find out a grain of the data that the state authorities do not disclose does not mean that we have won become smarter or gained power.
This means that we are once again convinced that we are only sheep led by someone. Don't think about meaningless things that we can't change. It is more important to focus on making everyone's life better. For example, I study articles about a successful interview at jobandcareer.tips because I want to get a new job.
It's essential, and it's something I can influence.

I'm old enough to remember the Pentagon Papers leaking being called "treason" and Deep Throat from Watergate days being called a traitor.... and on it goes. In time this guy will be on the right of history too, after the huffing and puffing by all politicians is past. All pollies do this, as they hope to suppress the truth when they're in power. What was it Princess Leiah said.... The more you tighten your grip, the more we'll slip through your fingers. May the force be with this guy. It's absurd he has to hide in Russia where clearly he doesn't want to be.

Interesting piece. How do you feel about Assange? I go back and forth on him and I am curious on how people view him also.

@LetzGetReal He kinda lost me when he chose to discredit Hilary (who he apparently hates) over Trump, who is so obviously (to anyone with a brain) more corrupt and dangerous. Although he did once state that to choose one story over another is what he would consider to be editing and that is not something a whistle blower should do. I agree, I think that his mental health has to be compromised at this point.

@LetzGetReal Yes. I agree he did survive (it seems) his exile. I know that I could not have. I actually have respect for whistle blowers but I think that if that is the cloak one takes to wearing then it should be worn with some sense of responsibility.(but perhaps that defeats the purpose) As for Hilary. I did vote for her (Bernie was my choice) and I think she would have been a pretty decent prez but I do not like that she is also part of the establishment. An establishment that I have no respect for that needs to be shaken up. This time around I am torn between Bernie and Warren (She can sometimes be a little too syrupy for me but I think she capable of implementing change). I am not fond of Biden. Love Mayor Pete and Mr. Yang also gets my attention. Kamala Harris is losing her lustre but she is a little too cliche for me. I will however be voting for whoever the Dem. candidate ends up being....which is exactly why many voted for the rump; because he was a republican. A bit scary. And continue being yourself 🙂

I'm so glad you posted this. Thank you.I hadn't caught up with him in quite awhile. Very cogent explanation of what we face today. Have to laugh when I think about an importing business I had out of Tucson in the early 70's. But that's a story for another day.

Anyone who thinks Snowden is a traitor has been severely brainwashed.

@LetzGetReal
POTUS. Hadn't thought of that. I wonder if that's possible since he will he jailed, tortured or killed if he renters the US. Then again, there's a Clown running the Republican circus, and the country, so I suppose anything is possible.

@LetzGetReal
They did make that promise about no torture, but how can anyone trust that (as you said)??

They can always modify their definition of torture to suit themselves. I really feel for him.

@LetzGetReal

I believe Snowden is a hero. I have absolutely zero respect for Greenwald.

I feel much better about the knowledge of where he is now and how he clarified his intentions of his act. Snowden is extremely good at communicating and seems to have a crystal clear memory of every detail, which should be working in his favor to re-introduce him to his home here in the USA. Maybe after we iron out the problems we have internally with our own president, Snowden might feel safer negotiating his return.

@LetzGetReal . I cannot imagine how I would have conducted myself under the pressure he was experiencing. Luckily his intelligence was a useable asset to keep him alive and well.

His returning has nothing to do with the current Administration, it has to do with the traitorous acts he performed and then escaped to another country to get away with breaking the law.
