Costco is a life saver! Not uncommon for me to spend hundreds there. Once I spent about $1500. Rarely had to go anywhere to get anything!

Fresh cows milk must work good on that...

I order a lot from Amazon and have had Amazon Prime for years. But I am trying to wean myself off after seeing John Oliver's report on how bad the working conditions are at their fulfillment centers. Their breaks are monitored and their production micro-measured.

Now every time I order I just think about a guy or gal who REALLY needs to go to the bathroom that can't because they have to get my order in!

@RiverRick I have worked in factories & mills all my life. The machinery kept running, it was up to the workers to keep up! The "horrible conditions" are a figment of white-collar workers standing around water coolers, who have never had an idea of what actual work is. I am part of a huge community of work/camp RVers, they work as needed to be able totravelfull-time in their RV) and I can tell you, Amazon Fulfillment centers are considered highly desirable employers, not only for the money, but also the clean, safe conditions.

@AnneWimsey They are clean and safe for the most part. And they do pay, though it's tough to live on what they pay alone... At least in this part of the country. I know a few people that work at the center that is south of me. They are monitored for production by the second! I couldn't imagine that. I turn off the GPS on my phone just so my employer (or anyone else) can't track me. I couldn't imagine working my day and having a production percentage constantly displayed that I had to stay above or risk being put on report by my supervisor.

@TheGreatShadow if you want fresh cows milk, get a cow. the idea that people could live rural but not have to sustain themselbves was short lived. welcome back to the era of your grandparents

@MarkiusMahamius they ship "Parmalot" whole, 2%, 1%, chocolate. needs no refrigeration until opened. I use it in my RV all the time.

What kind of delivery services do you think we have in a village of under 700 people? This is not NYC.

@TheGreatShadow youre about to find out. UPS and the USPS go most places. You won't get same day delivery.

@MarkiusMahamius Are you on drugs? If I put a letter in the mail to another person in the village, it goes 80 miles each way to either Omaha, or Lincoln. Then comes back here. That is cost effective! How did you get on this tangent anyways, and why do I bother to reply?

@TheGreatShadow he is talking about grocery delivery services like Peapod, Target, Stop & Shop or even through regular mail, there are lots & lots of them...most will go up to 50 miles or so for $5, and bring the groceries into your kitchen & place them on the counter.
Could you knock off going ballistic on every thread, maybe? Highly inappropriate, especially when people are trying to be helpful, and makes us wonder (or hope!) when you are getting a meds adjustment!
