Assuming you'll have a "normal" lifespan, what's the one event or development (real or imagined) that you regret you'll not live to see?
If I had to pick one (and since I posed the question that way, I suppose I'd better stick to one ), It's the day that a group of rational humans colonize another planet and form a religion-free, peaceful society based on science and compassion.
I would like to see the moronic citizens of earth get the common sense to stop breeding at the present rate .This population bomb is the cause of all the major problems on this earth from pollution to climate change ,etc, etc!.But no leaders or environmentalists have the guts to address this issue.
For most of my life the one development that I thought I would never see was federal decriminalization of cannabis, but it looks possible that I may live that long. Now if all states will just climb aboard the decriminalization train life would be better.
Don't know if yours is even possible, so I would go for something more modest. I would like to know if there is another living ecosystem, in the solar system. Yet now I think that space exploration will not prove that one way or another in the next twenty year or so that I may have if I am lucky.
