Another online dating story!! Nice pic, stuff very well written, asked pertinent questions, then, asked me, can you email me at "[name]101222@aol.com" 101222 is a postal code for Nigeria. What a moron!
Did you ever seen postal code: nevada desert 51 area?
No, I googled the odd 6 digits in his supposed email addy
Yep, so far I have connected with three local (Texas) women (who happen to be white) over the last few months...who later turned out to be "visiting Nigeria" for some reason or another. One wrote "to pick up diamonds for their jewelery business". I was like...are you trying to tempt me to buy some blood diamonds or something!?
Anyways, I immediately say I don't do long distance relationships and take my exit lol.
They alway ask for my number and as moosepucky recommends i give them the number of my dating only phone, which is a cheap prepaid smart phone.
It's been four months trying online dating...and it's been dissapointing.
I have only given an email address to two people from a dating site. One because I was talking my profile off line and I felt that it would be rude after messaging for a while. The other because they intrigued me.
I would never give a phone number under any circumstances. I would rather meet in person first.
Good rules to follow when online dating.
get and use a "disposable" email account (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc). Never use an address you would not want to abandon.
Get and only use a "burner" phone if you feel it necessary to "talk" instead of writing. Any "pay as you go" phone. I use one for craigslist ads and other functions where a phone number is "required".
Phone numbers are the new SSN. Everything about you is tied to your phone number.
No, I do not wear a foil hat.
We think alike! I always say, we can exchange Some contact info (other than on the site) while we are having coffee together. Period.
