Yes 2016 you read that right - clear HIPPA violations - and just terrible HealthCare workers.
It took four months for this wall to come down.
I had whiplash rereading this article - I was flabbergasted.
WHAT???? That is awful. How can anyone ever think that is OK? I work in healthcare, and like everyone else does yearly HIPAA training. I deal with EMR data ALL THE TIME.
Heads should roll on this one. This isn't even a close call. I don't know that it has ever happened, but you can go to jail for egregious violations (I signed my name to documents for many years as an information custodian that stated that).
Exactly! I was beyond perplexed here - it's like they entirely lost sight of proper document handling - nevermind decency.
WTF? Wouldn't this actually be a criminal violation, not just a civil violation?
Clearly HIPPA was violated.
I bet any accreditation they get isn't coming through this year...
I only wish it were criminal.
Do healthcare workers need to vent? Yes.
But I've never seen it done in such an ugly manner. And so unprofessionally.
