Long, long, looooonnnngg posts! Those of you who think you can entice me to read 5000+ word ideas, arguements, stories, notions, are Wrong. Haranguing is not effective! An excellent English teacher of mine once told me to remove every 3rd sentence, just take it out, and usually the meaning will pretty much remain the same, perhaps even become clearer. And ferpetessake, punctuation & paragraphs would be Great?!

Sorry Anne, I don't have time to read all that.😊

Honestly, if it's well written and on a topic I'm interested in I have no trouble with it. I would prefer they be clear in the first paragraph just what it's about though. If that first few sentences doesn't hook me then I'm out.

I've asked for crib notes on a few. I get you though... And agree!

I read the beginning and scim the rest.. Or scroll by...

I agree, they are mostly copy and paste anyway

Yep!

But, short posts made by points hounds are annoying too.

Maybe they are just naturally snarky........

I agree, some long posts are difficult to read. The content may be awesome, but it's lost to me when it's hard to get through them. I know some of my posts have been longer than most. When I do that, I'm very careful with paragraphs and punctuation, it's so important! Also, I make sure to check my spelling and grammar, and that everything makes sense; I'll even write it out in a Word document and make sure everything is clear before copying and pasting it over.

Have you tried the "remove every 3rd sentence thingy"? Works great on your post here........

@AnneWimsey Maybe a few words. But otherwise I don't see a problem with my response. I have a problem equally with posts and responses that don't say enough. Sometimes it's not the amount of words, but the way they're said.

Meaningful paragraphs.
