The UK tackling the real issues here... Knife crime? Moped thieves? Rampant drug use and drug related violence? Those are all small things compared to some restaurant chain CEO having some retarded views.

This is almost as bad as the Extinction Rebellion useful idiots. 🤣

Personally, I'd say that public rejection of a company that, thanks to its backward CEO, promotes the belief that being gay or transgender is bad is worthy of celebration.

@Jnei I didn’t say it wasn’t... Please celebrate all you want, but the next time a member of the LGBTQ community gets, harassed, assaulted or killed please do keep your mouth shut. Whilst you want to close down restaurants, like that’s a quality of life improvement, I want to put more officers on the streets not only to protect them, but to protect all citizens in general including you, whether you’re living or just visiting the UK.

...But hey; give yourself a nice pat on the back. You virtue signalled like a boss.

I’d argue that publicly rejecting a restaurant (which in turn results in its closure) is necessary in addition to keeping people protected from violence. The former shows these awful people with backward views that the public doesn’t agree with them and their bigotry isn’t ok. We need more of that. It doesn’t take putting more officers on the street off the table, so why are you so upset by it?

@Leeshi do you really think that having, or not, a restaurant chain present makes a difference?? LOL!!

I live and work in Camden and I can tell you this; there are no Chic-a-Fil’s here and yet, a lot of the time, LGBT folk get harassed and assaulted, especially in the later hours of the night when everyone has had a few to many and those tend to be the most violent encounters. Where does your restaurant and it’s boycott fit into that??
I know people that have been assaulted and I can tell you this; they care more about having more police presence in the streets they walk every day than having, or not, a “bigoted restaurant” in their country.

@Manjerico it’s about the public telling that one person that we don’t think his views are ok. I’m sure the assaulted people are more concerned with police presence, but that doesn’t mean they don’t appreciate allies publicly showing their support

@Leeshi right... Because empty words is the most effective tool against assault, not me jumping in the middle and helping out a person in need or having the police preemptively removing bad actors from the street.

@Manjerico why is it one or the other? People are able to do more than one thing to help others. Just because someone chooses to dine at an alternate establishment that isn’t famous for supporting anti-LGBT causes, it doesn’t mean they wouldn’t intervene in a situation like that

That's how you protect the LGBTQ citizens of England.

Man, I wish we all cared as much on this side of the pond.
