Oh shit, it seems I've done it yet again, though definitely NOT deliberately.
Decided to spend a bit of time cleaning up my front veranda this morning, I enjoy having some music while I work, as most people would, BUT, it seems both my choice of music and me playing disagreed with my Evangelist neighbor and his Evangelist friends(???) while they were having coffee and a bible discussion.
They particularly were outraged and disgusted with a couple of songs by Julian Lennon, on his CD album "Help Yourself."
The songs were, " Get A Life" and " Listen, " according to them Julian Lennon is "a Heathen, a Heretic and a Filthy Pagan who deserves to burn in Hell or repent his evil ways and music and should beg god for his forgiveness."
I won't bother telling what my words in response were, BUT, rest assured that A) I continued playing MY music BECAUSE it WAS being played WELL AFTER 10.00AM, B) 2 of my other neighbors requested, in person, that I continue playing music BECAUSE they too working outside and were enjoying it immensely, and, C) IT IS my house, my home and SHALL play any kind of music that I like.
Where, in the name of all FUCK, do these dipshits come from that think THAT THEY can DICTATE to everyone else what should/should not be done on his/her own property?

...they seem to be EXTREMELY sensitive to rights offensives,
their "percieved rights" to tell others what they think is
correct and "moral". Talk about overreach from a sheltered
life,if they lived on an island-they would find reasons to bitch.
Thanx/congrats

That certainty comes with their belief system.

Yeah, and that's not all either.
About an hour LATER, well after I had finished, turned off the Stereo and showered to get rid of the dirt and sweat, a police officer knocks on my door and states that they'd received a complaint about the noise I was making.
I told him that, "Yes, I had been cleaning up my front veranda, Yes, I had music playing and IF he wished I could turn the 'offending' sound system back on, at the EXACT volume that I had it on earlier since I had only turned it off, disconnected the speakers fixed to my front wall and then proceeded to have a shower."
With a bit of smirky kind of humorous grin and a slightly muffled giggle, he simply said, " Okay, give me a listen then please."
I played the music, outside speakers connected as well, at the exact same volume, he listened, smiled AND as the neighbor entered my front gate stated to me, " Well that's bloody good music Mate, can't see why anyone in their right mind would object to that," then looked sternly at my neighbor and said, quite officially, " You, Sir, are trespassing on this land, you HAVE made a false report to the Police, wasting out time, fuel and efforts, etc, so I intend to give a hefty fine right here and now, perhaps this might teach YOU a lesson."
He handed over the Fine Notice, turned me and asked, " Know anywhere where I can get a copy of that Cd Mate, that's music I could really enjoy ;listening to at home anytime."

@Triphid It makes me happy to read this.

@Spinliesel Yeah, glad to make you happy and hope this will cheer you up even more since I know how the fine would have been because I saw the Police officer write it out, though I THINK he made sure I could see him doing it.
The fine amounts to 873 $ A and MUST be paid WITHIN 30days or makes arrangements to pay in installments, IF not he gets summoned to Court and will, most likely, be charged and cop not only that fine to pay BUT a whole lot extra from the Court as well.

@Triphid You will not have made friends, but screw it. People like that need to learn their lessons and most learn it through an impact on their wallets.
So, will you post a track from your cd in the Music Fan group?

@Spinliesel I would MUCH rather NOT have my Evangelist neighbor as a friend, or, sometimes, even as a neighbor as well.
Life IS so quiet and enjoyable WHEN he decides to be absent from his place for months on end, when he's around most of the other neighbors feel like they are 'walking on eggshells when they are out in their yards or gardening, etc, simply because, and this IS no joke, he makes it HIS business to know what you are doing and how you are doing it.
He is, no joke here either, like a bloody Gestapo paid spy, so bad that I have erected 2 fences on my property, both well over 7 feet high and separated by about 6 feet between them that blocks out his view from my backyard completely, just so as I can go about my own business in peace, etc.

@Triphid Oh, that is terrible. I live completely without fences in my small rural community. I am on good terms with all my neighbors. We all used to sit on my front porch steps, listen to music drink beer and smoke weed. That makes for some good bonds.

@Spinliesel Yeah, well until he moved in this was a really great, friendly neighborhood, and to some larger extent still is WHEN he is NOT here.
Before him ,the people who owned that house were religious but religion was never discussed among neighbors, we'd often have a chat over the fence or just 'drop in' for a coffee and chat with each other BUT he visits very uninvited most times and wheels out his bible and starts preaching at will.
I'll more than likely truly piss him off very soon simply because I'm painting a new address plate for my front gate and fully intend to have on it, not only my house number BUT words to the effect that say clearly," Religion Free Zone, NO religious pamphlets, etc, permitted beyond this point."
And , as the owner of this property it IS my right to do so.

@Triphid Of course, it is your right. This whole thing sounds a lot like a pissing contest gone mad.

@Spinliesel No, not really, I could give a flea's fart for what he does in his yard/house, just as is the opinion of ALL the other neighbors as well.
But his ceaseless 'dropping' of religious quotations and pamphlets into our mailboxes and often pinning them to our doors HAS gone well past being an annoyance.
The law here states that " Ever house MUST have unhindered access to the MAIN front entrance FOR legitimate Visitors, Tradespeople, etc." But, those trying to 'push' religion to households can be considered as NOT having Legitimate/Legal Reasons in the eyes of the Law BUT, and here's the cruncher, " They can claim, under their Freedoms of Religions, that they ARE doing 'God's Work.'
However, should a homeowner/tenant affix a notice/sign to the property/front gate or fence stating " No religion/s," or "Religion Free Zone," or words to that effect, then, legally, those 'pushing' their religion/s, etc, MUST heed to and obey that notice AND refrain from entering or leaving ANY and ALL religious messages. etc, on or near that property or face Police Prosecution.
So I am merely taking the advice of the Police officer to heart in the 'hope' that some kind of peace from his relentless peddling of religion will occur at last.
