So much advancement has come from NASA but has not been acknowledged. Medical treatments, products, chemicals. My concern is the militarization of space & the plethora of space junk threatening our missions. Paint flecks to lasers.

Why would you think that? All of our advancement and scientific accomplishments have furthered our knowledge of the universe. It has helped us slowly move away from religious ignorance.
going to mars costing billions has helped us move away from religion. really? shouldn't humans concentrate on saving the planet there on and destroying?
Almost hard to believe that all good and evil that's ever happened is situated in that tiny white speck.

It is so true. It just gives you an ideaof the almost infinite size of the universe
Did it found the cure for cancer there? Because that will be an accomplishment to me.
