Most interesting point about producing batteries In general: “they are only able to supply less than 1 percent of the amount of energy used to produce them.”
This is not good. Most counterproductive. What say ye?
I really loathe having to buy batteries including rechargeable. Cordless power tools make me crazy!! I know they are very handy but convenience is killing the planet. All the smaller devises that use batteries are again in the convenience category.
I rarely need a power drill (handy for upping up shelving, towel racks, etc.) I had a cordless drill for many years but the batteries finally refused to recharge. The drill was over 15 years old and a new battery for the old model was more than the cost of a new drill. WTF?!?! WHY?
I could not even find an inexpensive corded drill, there are impact drills and big heavy duty drills at the hardward stores around town but not a real simple small drill with just enough torque to drill a screw into a stud. Oh I'm sure I can find one on line.
