Yesterday I saw a commercial that showed people telling some electronic gizmo to "fill pots/dog bowls, etc with a specified amount of water". We manage to have that type of technology - apparently at our fingertips. And yet, I sit here with no internet because - once again - the flying squirrels have managed to invade the boxes and chew on the lines. Not enough to completely sever - just interrupt the signal. I find myself wondering - wouldn't you think by now the communication companies would have come up with equipment boxes that were "critter proof"? I was told - "it shocks them a little.....but doesn't kill them". ????? I suppose this post just comes under the heading of "things that make you go ...hmmmmmm".
In some of the most secure places in the US rodents disrupt communications and have since we started using plastic on the outside of the wires. I spent many a night inventorying nuclear weapons because of ground squirrels chewing the wires set off the alarms. These were boxes that were so tight that we couldn't slip a credit card between the seems.
Un-freakin'-believable!!
Is it fixed ???????
It apparently is.....the technician told me that some of what he saw (repaired) was a horrendous mess and is being reported - hopefully they will make some additional repairs/take steps to keep our internet from going down every 2 months.
