Ring-ring.
Mechanical voice: This is an important call from your Visa/Mastercard that applies before the next billing cycle. You are qualified to receive a new card with no interest. Press 1 to speak with a customer representative.
Me: Pushes 1.
Male Voice: How are you today?
Me (in a VERY loud, gushing, and cheerful voice): I am just wonderful! Thank you so much for asking!"
MV: You sound like a fucking alien.
Me: And you sound like a fucking scammer.
MV: You are an alien.
Me: I would rather be an alien than a scammer.
MV: You know what an alien does?
Me: Do you know what a scammer does? He tries to take advantage of ignorant people by preying upon their weaknesses. You have no ethics, no morals, and are despicable.
MV: You know what an alien is?
Me: What type of alien are you talking about? An extraterrestrial alien or one from another country?
Silence.
Damn, I was looking forward to a discussion of aliens. Was it something I said?
LOL I usually ignore them but the other day after about 3 calls that left messages that they were going to cancel my SS benefits (which I don't get) if I did not call them, I called back and called them every name in the book for trying to get my SSN from me and scaring old people while doing it. I got some poor fellow one of the three times I called that tried to reason with me for 10 min and finally hung up on him. I feel sorry for people who have to do this for a living.
Gwendolyn - here is something I think you will find very funny... The Jolly Roger telephone company offers pre-recorded messages that you can play to telemarketers and they have no clue they are not speaking to a real person - you can scam the scammer and it is a laugh-riot and there are many different recordings and here is a sample...
I love it
I get most everything mail order...which means my phone number has been sold to every telemarketer in the galaxy. This is too good
@Gwendolyn2018 it got to the point where I was getting 25-50+ sales calls a day. Thank goodness for voicemail.
Good job!!! You're braver than I or more tolerant. I don't answer calls from numbers I don't know, and I don't call back if they don't leave a message.
