You often hear a lot about IQ (Intelligence Quotient) but not EQ (Emotional Quotient). I was told by numerous professionals that I have a high EQ. I was not aware of this before or had any knowledge that there was such a thing labeled as that.

What does emotional intelligence mean to you?

I don't do long words or abbreviations.

I can't discuss it. It makes me too emotional.

EQ is incredibly important, arguably more important than IQ, because someone with hight EQ but average IQ will almost always do better in both their personal and professional life than someone with hight IQ but average EQ.

There is a reason why so many people in powerful positions only have average or slightly above average IQ, and it is because they are good with dealing with other people and themselves. By meeting the emotional needs of the people around them they can gain their trust, and be elevated to higher positions.

BS!

@Atheist3 Why do you think it's BS?

@Happy_Killbot Where's the beef! Support your argument?

@Atheist3 ok
[sciencedirect.com]

@Happy_Killbot lol

@Atheist3 Is that sufficient scientific evidence for you?

@Happy_Killbot Not unless the hypothesis has been subjected to the scientific method & repeatedly falsified. So, let"s hear your argument.

@Atheist3 Why do I need to make an argument?

@Happy_Killbot 'argument' as in reasoned debate.

@Atheist3 I don't want to have a debate. Can't we just have a honest conversation?

@Happy_Killbot As in social intercourse?

@Atheist3 Yes, I just want to know why you think EQ being superior to IQ is BS.

@Happy_Killbot First, tell me what you mean by emotional quotient.

@Atheist3 I would define EQ as: "the capacity to be aware of, control, and express one's emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically"

would you agree with this definition?

@Happy_Killbot Sure! Who the hell lives their lives according to EQ?

@Atheist3 Sounds like your judging people a little there. I might ask the same thing about IQ.

Uuummmm, drump?
