How long have you been app dating? Which app has been your most successful for actual dates?
I joined my first online dating site just over 4 years ago when I joined OKC almost by accident. Oddly enough, I met the man I'm still with about a week later. (Who is also an atheist.) However, we have a very open relatoinship, so over the years I've tried almost all of the others: POF, Match, FetLife, CollarSpace, CraigsList (sadly, a thing of the past), and probably some others I can't remember.
I have had profiles on a few different apps over the last 2 years. POF is terrible. the population leans heavily towards high school educated and heavy drinkers. I deleted that one. Have also tried Match.com. The “meet someone gaurantee” is a scam - they make sure no one qualifies and so they charge full price for the renewal. Over a year of membership, I have never had so much as a date from Match. A friend used Tinder for a while. When I ask why she quit she said, “Dick pics.” Note we are almost 40.
OKC is the best I have found - free, lots of people on it, questions that allow you to eliminate incompatible people. They have also recently changed their system to prevent harassment.
POF and OKCupid haven't been that bad for me in terms of interacting with people on the net. I haven't done much dating with people on either though. It's much different for a woman though.
Well, I have a profile on a few dating sites. But I've been on far more actual dates from craigslist.
No luck for this farmboy! I think they're all terrible. It's just an exercise in abstraction.
I've used okcupid, tinder, meetme and this site.(though you'll find this isnt a dating site like the others) .Actual dates? I've had half a dozen off okcupid and one short and disastrous relationship. I haven't had any dates off the others.
All in all, though I'm not dating anyone here I like this site best. The people are the best and I've not had one dic pic or masturbation video yet.
Great question. I did match a few years ago and ended up in a serious relationship out of it. But it's over now, so ... I tried Chemistry a few weeks ago but couldn't find any match! So I'm giving this a try.
None of them. I think they're mostly a con. just another way to get money out of people.
Never worked for me!
exactly
Years ago I was on a local BBS called Affinity. This was before the internet, when you got online by connecting to local computers. Because it was local, everyone was near me. I had great success with that.
