Iām new to this site and I find it interesting that people who are religious are here. Are the majority of these people open minded or researching to learn points for converting atheists? Iām glad to see that there are so many agnostics nearby! I hope to meet some of you soon!
agnostic.com's mirror site, humanist.com, tends to bring more liberal theists and "spiritual but not religious" types here. Most of them in my experience aren't out to convert anyone. There are much higher incidences of fundagelical windbags on other atheist sites.
I actually would like any information based on fact that would "convert" me. If God was real it would be very important to know about. As it is there is simply no evidence for any God. A test of a god that does not exist is that it requires faith to beilieve in said god. There is no god that does not require faith.
Iām not stating that someone would successful at converting an agnostic/atheist, just wondering if researching was a reason they may join this group. I would like to think that the topics discussed here would actually be deconverting them.
As Carlin said, an easy way to control primitive people. As Lewis Black said, invented for the Jews to take their minds off the fact that they were wandering the desert with no air conditioning. Heh. Classic.
@InkedMaiden If they are here they have doubts or are so convenced of their delusion that they have very little chance of coming to reason.
Welcome...the religious are here for various reasons. I don't concern myself with them....am sure if any are foolish enough to start preaching there are some tough people here to put them in their place...anyway, kick back, relax, and enjoy the fantastic people of agnostic.com.....
