Christmas day is almost here and I do not feel it at all. Funny how then older one gets it matters less and less. Am I the only one who feels like this?

When I was servicing Point of Sale equipment, customers would call up angry they had a problem. They would say to me, "get over here goddamit! It's christmas!".
I would say, "Huh, its christmas over here too!"

I don’t necessarily think it’s getting older it’s the emphasis. Communal and familial celebration, regardless of any religious emphasis has become shallow and consumerist, particularly since 70s.

People now work over Christmas, get in debt over Christmas and squabble over various different family rights and expectations over Christmas.

Not much to celebrate really!

No, you are not alone.
