US slips further down the rankings in world happiness report while Denmark has led for the past seven years. The report documents health, education, employment, and religion as key factors. Take a look at how religious a country is as a whole versus economic and health well being.
I don't know if it has to do with religion. I think it has more to do with how willing people are to make sacrifices for others. Here in America people seem so unwilling to help anyone if it will come at a cost to themselves. Honestly I think if we didn't have such a selfish population we could have solved a lot of these kinds of problems a long time ago.
A lot of that seems religious in nature and also a type of "John Wayne" mentality that other more secular countries don't have.
I've been there and it truly feels like women are running it . a rich person has to pay 700% tax on a luxury car ! can you imagine that in the states? no neither can I .
But in some of these countries the money doesn't go into the pockets of others. It often comes back to the society in the form of benefits. We have one of the lowest personal income taxes in the world yet we can't seem to maintain even a basic infrastructure. We need more women running our country and maybe we could reduce the huge wealth gap.
@MarvelAnn this is what I can't stand about the printed word . you can't hear the inflection in my voice if i were to say this . I love the way denmark is and chastise america for never being able to rise to this level. having women run the place is a good thing
@JackPedigo well that's why because you don't take from the rich to give to the poor. women usually don't want a 4 thousand sq.ft. house or a bmw 7 series they want peace security and happiness. leave it to the girls and we'll all be better off
@MarvelAnn @JackPedigo It's not so much women's sentiments versus men but a type of "Macho" mentality. If you look at those countries where that ideal is dominant and those where it is not, you can compare rates of crime, medical and economic standards and come to your own conclusions.
@Angelface I think the hormone testosterone has a lot to do with it.
