"Forced to resign" usually means "get fired or else".. since theres basically no way to fire him (another impeachment process just for him, seems unlikely), hed either have to get voted out, or possibly, depending how far his corruption reaches, be convinced by other conspirators in his network, to step down for legal damage control reasons. If he does resign, id be 10x more interested in figuring out what his "friends" are up to and why he was willing to give up his power for them..
