I never thought I would be relieved to find out I had cancer, but after suspecting it for several months, having a biopsy, missing the call from the doctor on Friday morning and having to wait until today because of the long weekend, it comes as a relief with surgery scheduled for next week.
It is a melanoma which they believe they can completely excise. My strong belief in medical science gives me great comfort, and even though I have socks that are older than my surgeon, I trust her to get it right. Youngsters have steady hands.
What day next week .
Who is going home w u afterwards .
Is your son in town ?
I haven’t done my schedule yet for next week . Do u want me to fly down for surgery or post op ?
Text me ?
Awww that is really kind and sweet of you you remind me of me around here. Stay being you
You are so kind. you can come see me anytime
I'm so glad you pushed through on your suspicions and can act on it quickly. I believe those young doctor's have better eyesight and steadier hands, so all the better for you!
I have been impressed with the young doctors since the VA in NTX allied with UT Southwestern Med School. They could be a little better at explaining what they are doing, but their work has been fantastic.
I'm at the point in life that the only time young women ask me to take my clothes off it has to do with a medical procedure.
@glennlab please find out if they have availability of Nivolumab. It will decrease the risk of it (melanoma) coming back and shrink and destroy any other tumour before they can even come out.
@TimeOutForMe Thanks, I'll ask.
Here's everything of the very best with your surgery. Cancer CAN be beaten. All will work out for you. Stay positive.
Dear ... I am wishing you the best and fast recovery ... Know that you have a friend here and a good listener. You are in my thoughts and I will be sending you good vibes every day until you come back and let us know that you are perfect...ok ? Sending tons of hugs and kisses
Peace & Love, Dear

Thanks
Sorry to hear you have this but I have friends that found some lesions on their skin and got them removed with no complications. Wishing you luck. Psst, a hint to recovery is don't pay attention to all the negative political crap going on. Focus on your getting better.
Positive thoughts. Good thing you didn't put it off.
Thanks.
I'm sure you'll do fine. I am a +14 year cancer survivor myself.
Having gone through another very bad disease in the past, (2000) I knew my best course of action for my own peace of mind was to find out as much as I could as quickly as possible. It made the final reveal much easier to handle.
@glennlab Yes, good info is a must.
