I think it create a paradym where peopel are either considered to have value or not have value with no room in between. I think everyone has soem value and use in society, nto just the "winners".

It's about the journey and not the destination.

My life has nothing to do with winning or losing, I don't need to be bolstered by nonsense like that.

Life is not about winning or loosing to me, because it 'pits me against others!' It is not my style! When we help each other to be our best...everyone wins!

Have you ever wondered if losing builds character what does winning build?

@SamL good thought! I think that I am referring more to competition, in winning or losing! I am simply not competitive! Life, itself seems to be filled with enough hardships, to be overcome...that does build character.

Winning and losing are largely objective things, but you can't win at all things, you have to prioritize which things you want to win. So really, winning and losing become subjective: what things are worth winning at? For me, I want to 'win' at being a decent person, a good father, a progressive, a skeptic. I couldn't care less about winning money or social status, except insofar as they can help me with my real goals.

Experience each journey

Because life is about being happy..following your bliss. If you love a particular career, then do it.
If you hate doing a certain type of work, then don't do it.

Life can be about many things. I simply never agreed to the terms that it is about winning and losing. If that is all it is, we are missing out on a great deal of the experience of life.

Initial answer--to lose is to win and he who wins shall lose.

Serious answer--I'm noncompetitive. I'd rather live my own life than constantly compare myself to others. I did that for ages and it got me no-where.

Winning for me would be bringing those that I can with me on the, 'upwards' (for want of a better descriptor) journey. Learning to enjoy moments of life together and supporting each other when it's more tricky. No one has to lose, although there are some I chose not to walk with or carry.

I grew past 10 years of age.

Because sometimes it ends in a tie.

It's how you play the game and what you learn from it.

Winning and losing at life. Who is determining what is a win or loss? Your here, your living, it's a win. Certain Presidents get elected and we all lose.

0

Maybe it is.
Your life is measured in time and the things you do and experience. It fits between your birth and your death. If you enjoy it, that is about the best win you can have.

I don't think there is such a thing as winning and losing in life. You're here for a little while and then you die. My goal is to do no harm, try and make the world better, and enjoy the ride.

Its how you play the game.

Life is simply that

Well, I think you missed a whole lot of shades of grey in between but I hear ya. I hear ya.

I know

An implied winner and loser descends from logic, and it is called the Hegelian Dialectic. As opposed to the Eastern Dialectic in which Torah was written; a completelty diff animal:
"...three principles underlie Eastern dialecticism. Notice I didn't say 'propositions...' the term 'proposition' has much too formal a ring for what is a generalized stance toward the world rather than a set of ironclad rules.

  1. Principle of change:
Reality is a process of change.
What is currently true will shortly be false.
  2. Principle of contradiction:
Contradiction is the dynamic underlying change.
Because change is constant, contradiction is constant.
  3. Principle of relationships (or holism):
The whole is more than the sum of its parts.
Parts are meaningful only in relation to the whole..."

Mmmhmm, is that so?

@SamL ya i really have no idea tbh; sounded good 🙂

We all win we all loose. We find it easier to loose than we do to win. Its in our self interest to be successful in our goals. So it's a default position to wish to be more successful than to fail. No matter what we all have degrees of success and failure. A person's aim in life is usually to minimize the negative and optimize the positive.

Let's see. I lost my adopted parents July 3rd 2017. I got custody of my siblings. Just to find out I have metastatic breast cancer. Who wins. Who loses.

You my 'child!' You stepped up to 'life!'
