A friend of mine will be moderating the Las Vegas Democratic town hall this Thursday. (Sanders, Steyer, Buttigieg, Klobuchar) If you would like propose a question for them post it here. this is being sponsored by LULAC.
That's wonderful.
I'd like to ask Senator Sanders about his position on nuclear energy. I know that he is committed to fighting climate change and I believe that Nuclear has an important place in that fight. There are many advantages to using nuclear but I've heard Sanders say that he is against it and I'd like to hear him explain why.
I'll pass that on.
@glennlab Thanks! Will this townhall be on TV?

@glennlab Thanks, I'll tune in
There are some new reactor designs that are safe, but mining radioactive material is not clean. Moreover solar farms are less expensive and much faster to build due to required environmental studies for nuclear power plants.
On the other hand, large stockpiles of spent nuclear fuel exist around nuclear power plants that can be used in a Traveling Wave Reactor, which would eliminate the current piles of nuclear waste.
