. Alabama lawmaker responds to abortion ban with mandatory vasectomy bill. [yahoo.com]
This is a case of the state getting involved in people's privacy. Let freedom ring.
Of course ....I think the Gov't should stay away from people's sexual habits and reproductive endeavors. @MissKathleen
Not until 50 years of age? That's a bit late. Surely this " Man-o-pause" should take place a few years earlier. (I had mine when I waa 35. My thinking being that I already had two children and it was better for my wife's health not to be continuously on the pill, the long term side effects of which were unknown.) Likewise, the state should subsidise the cost of a voluntary abortion if performed well before the mandatory 3rd child requirement.
You were a loving and responsible partner.
@AnonySchmoose Still am - sometimes!
The bill is wonderful news! The bill would be even more just if men have to get the vasectomy within a month of the first child. The world's population can only be fair to everyone on earth if births are limited to one child per parent.
Two is more fair. That equates to one child per parent. That was my thinking, in 1976, when I got myself snipped.
@Petter I read discussion on several population control websites. For the current time, the earth cannot sustain more than one child per parent, but in the future that could be changed. Two sounds nice to me too, but for now is not sustainable.
@AnonySchmoose One per parent equates to two per couple. Hence, if males were to be vasectomised, it would be after two. Yes?
@Petter
Currently the sustainable number is one.
I should have said one per couple.
