I actually feel pretty much the same as the writer about women who dress this way. what does that say about me?
Not my business, except seeing someone happy makes me feel happy!
"Intellectually, I enjoyed that Ian was rejecting gender norms and expectations. But physically, my desire didn’t match."
I think I suffer with this same issue. I support men that break traditional gender norms/roles, but I find myself uncomfy with feminine appearing straight, cis-men. I am wondering if it is baggage from being raised by very stereotypically gender conforming parents as well as being raised catholic. Hopefully with time, I will get over myself.
Actually, I do not like hyper feminine girly crap anyways. So if I don't care for it on women, why would I like it on a man? >.>
Ah good, not just me then.
About women who dress this way? The link was to an article about how a man dresses...
My take: Clothing has no gender. Long ago, women who dared to don pants were scandalous. Male fashion used to include kilts or tunic "dresses", tights, and heels. Personally, I find Scottish kilts smoking hot and modern man skirts super attractive (and in no way, non-masculine). I can totally understand being drawn to the complexity of dresses. Why does that have to be seen as emasculating?
Nevertheless, it is seen as emasculating.
@BitFlipper By some, not by others.
@Zster that's nice, but it still doesn't make it socially acceptable.
@BitFlipper You don't say? And here I thought it was the latest fashion rage! (;
