When Trump came into office the US was already a great nation. We had our problems as does any nation, but we were well respected (under Bush we lost respect due to his unilateralism - under Obama our respect took a resurgence and we regained world respect).

Since Trump came on the scene, he and his supporters has drug us into the muck and slime of small mindedness. We are no longer a great nation (last in response to pandemic and continually falling further behind the rest of the westernized world). The only way the US can be considered great again in the eyes of the world is to get rid of Trump and his undereducated cabal. And yes, world opinion is important and does make a significant difference.

I agree with this statement. I realized when Trump took office in 2016 that his emphasis on the (self) of the Country was wrong and would isolate us from the world and ultimately destroy us. Trump inaugural speech was the most disgusting speech of all time. He has unfortunately proved me right. I pray that he be only a one term president and we can begin to right the wrong he has done to our democracy and our way of life. He has empowered every negative aspect of our life. To me he is a human virus.

The hell? Trump is backlash from a nation that thinks its greater than it is.

We need to get the fuck over ourselves.

I can agree with that, but I tend to be rather cynical. My point was mostly just to draw a contrast to where we were prior to Trump and how he has drug us down even further.

This is true but the democratic establishment and the corporate media has already made it's decision. There will be at least 4 more years of the Trump regime.

"Democratic Establishment"? Don't you mean "voters who don't worship Bernie"?

@BitFlipper

I mean the moderate candidates who all happened to drop out and endorse Biden at that critical moment. I mean the democratic leaders who decided to close hundreds of polling places near college campuses and in Hispanic areas in California and Texas the night before super Tuesday. I mean the DNC which has decided to alter the rules as the game is being played to keep Tulsi off the debate stage and to make it as Biden friendly as is possible. I mean the Iowa democratic party which decided that errors in the official count cannot be corrected in order to "protect the integrity of the results." I mean the corporate media which never fails to ignore or smear Bernie while failing to cover Biden's critical flaws.

They designed it to turn out this way and it will result in another win for the MAGA people.

@RoboGraham I gave up fantasies when I gave up religion.

@BitFlipper

Same here.
