It seems, according the Union for Concerned Scientists, we have more to fear from the present administration than the Coronavirus. [blog.ucsusa.org]
”As I reported before, the Trump administration has hollowed out the federal government to such an extent that we are severely lacking in capable scientific leadership, resources, and expertise to guide us through the crisis posed by this novel coronavirus outbreak. And as my colleague Michael Halpern has pointed out, the administration is also engaging in a strategy that restricts the ability of scientists from directly communicating important information to the public on COVID-19.”

Yes they definitely need help.
He is on TV, right now, 4:30pm 3/13, saying they will get needed medical supplies "from the VA & other agencies". Which means, there is Soooo not enough to go around & the herd is going to be spectacularly thinned.

Much of what they tell you there is out of context. They don't tell you if the meeting was about how to handle the virus situation here, or how to handle people who have to travel to other countries, or how to handle Russian spy plains flying over the Atlantic Ocean... And yet, if you actually look at the rating he gave them, he ranked their "factual reporting" at HIGH!! So no, it's not an extreme right wing propaganda site.. 'Funny that' back atchya.. Him saying they are left leaning isn't the point, it's the fact that the UCS is in fact a political activist group,,, and that is true, whether you are willing to admit it or not.
Thank you for the link. So after looking I read "Overall, we rate the Union of Concerned Scientists Left-Center Biased based on political advocacy that aligns with liberal policy. We also rate them High for factual reporting due to pro-science sourcing of information and a clean fact check record."

@Captain_Feelgood Unfortunately, in this day of so many forces denying the validity of science, scientists have to join forces to try and work with politics both for and against. In these days scientists must toot their own horn because the industry and some politicians are determined to push them into a corner.
Meh. I knew this years ago. Ever since he started running I knew it would be a disaster if he was president and I know once he was placed in the WH if there was a disaster (and we be there now) he would not have a clue how to handle it.
I realize no gets out alive but when you actually cause people to suffer and die you are evil.

They decimated many protective agencies, getting rid of people with decades of experience, not replacing them with anyone, or political hacks.
