This is a post I posted onto my Facebook. I’m sure I’ll get shit for being the voice of reason but I cannot stay silent. Below is my caption and the photo that’s currently circulating around FB.

It is arrogant, insensitive, & irresponsible to think that because you believe in God you are protected from this virus or any natural disaster. There are plenty of people that were praying to your God & still lost their lives but I guess they don’t count because they’re not you. I know you all believe that those people are now in “Heaven” but it is still insensitive to families. I can’t stress how irritating it is to lose a loved one and continuously hear that they are “in a better place”. This pandemic should be taken seriously. People need to actually take precautions instead of relying on an invisible deity to keep everyone safe. I’m not saying everyone who shares this isn’t doing that but this does not send the good message you think that you are spreading. These kind of posts are toxic and alarming.
