In some respects I disagree, considering today's media environment. Some really are victims.

Fuck the rest, though.

Yes, some are on all sides. But, no party other than the Republicans have shown such a near total lack of moral courage and integrity.

The other side has some strong arguments about us too and this will go on. This is also why the 2 sides in Congress don't agree on doing anything for us while enjoying lush pay and perks.

@St-Sinner I disagree. Until the 1990s, as a rule Democrats and Republicans managed o work together on some issues and reach acceptable compromises on most other issues. The difference came with the emergent and virulent ideological extremism of Newt Gingrich, Tom DeLay, and Dick Armee which has since been carried on by the TEA party, and Mitch McConnell.

@creative51 Sorry for the typo. I meant the 1990s.

It is true that members of both parties are owned by various corporations. But to equate their evilness as equal is spurious. It's a simple way to shrug your shoulders, throw your hands up and proclaim, "They're all corrupt and I can't do anything, so I just turn cynical and do nothing". That's an abrogation of responsibility as a voter and citizen.

If you look at the total of corpus passed by the Democratically controlled House, the majority of them were written and passed to benefit the average citizenry. Then look to McConnell and the Republican lead Senate and you will very easily and clearly see the difference between the two parties. Just take the Senate vote today.

My parents grew up on the Great Plsins during the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl. As I grew up they always said, "Democrats were for the common folk, and Republicans were for the Corporations". It appears nothing has changed.

White Suprematist Christian Nationalist took America and made it into a theocracy.

We have been going back and forth between conservatives/religious and progressives in the last 60 years. As the history of the world has shown, conservatives win the short term, progressives win for the long run. It is true that generations are lost in that battle but the right idea will win in the long run.

So there Is no substantial difference between the parties? Well, that is facile and allows us to be cynical and self-satisfied, and to hell with the fact that it isn't true. One has to be observant and to understand what one observes, as well as being wIlling to admit that humans are complex and therefore that we don't know everything, in order to abandon the "oh well the world is fucked and ain't i clever to notice it" attitude.

I've read that Trump lost the election , by nearly three million votes . He wasn't elected .

Don't we all still wish. Many Democrats are still in denial but Trump is the White House, has delivered promises to his base and is on his way to an easy re-election in 2020. Bernie supporters say that Bernie would have won if it was not for Hillary. These are delusional thoughts. I deal with the reality. I see Trump as President is kicking Democrats' ass pretty good every day and our lame Democratic leaders are making it easy for him to do so... Nothing the Democrats did against Trump worked. We bash Trump day in and day out. On this platform we even have a Trump Pinata group but I hardly hear the truth about our own Democratic leaders:

  1. Why are they not doing anything about illegal immigration?
  2. Why are they not talking about infrastructure bill instead of impeachment for 2 years?
  3. Why don't old wood like Pelosi, Schumer, Bernie and alike retire? Why are they not vacating seats after 30, 40, 50 years in Congress?
  4. Why are they not talking about their own term limits?

@St-Sinner Very well said. Keep up the good work.

@St-Sinner Well maybe the youth got their wish and C-19 is here to eradicate the elderly reds and blues to make way for the youth. "I needed your place yesterday!"

Hmmm, now where have I heard that before?

@Davesnothere
Ha ha.. That is radical but I like the take although I am close to elderly now.

@St-Sinner Me too, problem is "do you feel Old?" LOL

I am willing to let the old gaurd (65+ politicians) just fuckin retire and lets the kids have a go, we fucked it up quite enough already (my generation)
Of course we didn't start the fire
but we were not firemen either

@St-Sinner 1. because illegal immigration is way down. LEGAL asylum requests are up, but trump and ice break international law to abuse those seekers.

  1. democrats have passed infrastructure bills. they sit on mitch mcconnell's desk. don't blame democrats for republican stubbornness.

  2. because only an idiot thinks pelosi, for example, is old wood. an ageist idiot, i might add.

  3. why the hell should they? we have term limits. they're called elections. get rid of republican dirty tricks, gerrymandering and other voter suppression and elections will work. oh yeah, the russians, too.

Great and very ironic post O horned one, well done that man! I hate biblical quotes but I can't help thinking "as ye sow, shall ye reap" 🙂

I maybe red and horned but I care and have love in my heart. 🙂

@St-Sinner Except for Bernie...

@jlynn37
You know... I am "the truth be told" kinda guy.

@St-Sinner I would say "an opinion expressed" kinda guy, and that is OK.

Only the US? I think all around the world happens the same shite. Alternation of power between two major parties. Nothing really changing. Although we can't complain, people in Syria who are fleeing from war and many people in Africa who hardly have something to eat, for example.

There is a lot of mess in the world. It has always been like that. When I was growing up, suicide bombs by the Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka and bombing in Israel by Palestinians were everyday front page news. Today it is Syria and Turkey. But how can we talk, complain or do anything about everything in the world? Our house is burning so we are talking about our house.

I'm in total agreement with your thoughts!

@St-Sinner, true. Unfortunately, politicians are the same shite all over the world. In countries like Angola, which is rich in resources, are the politicians exploiting the riches and people live in poverty. It's an example of a country that could be great for everyone. That's the way it is, unfortunately.

@Paddypereira

There always be a mess in the world, more in some places than other. And the UN has just become a White Elephant full of charitable agencies hogging billions of our funds every year.

Because there are all kinds of people in the world, there will be all kinds of problems in the world. People have to rise and take care of their countries and problems.

@St-Sinner,I agree with the principle. People are too scared or stupid to fight this kind of Mafia that politicians have become.

@Paddypereira Never a truer statement have I seen on this site, the EU gifts African countries Millions of Euros and what do they do.....buy a nice new fleet of Mercedes Benz to lord it up! Fuck the people, so yes, politicians are total assholes across the board.
