The headline should have read:
Delusional Old Man in a Dress Wanders Streets of Rome During Shutdown
Why is the pope allowed to wander around outside with his entourage in a city under lockdown, in flagrant violation to the isolation rules imposed upon everyone? This is a terrible example to set for his religious followers but it goes unchallenged. Does anyone think this is the right thing to do?

Funny . . . . Yet, if the only people who would become infected and die were those too stupid to have a sense of reality, i would be all about letting them get as close together as possible.
But, they will go about all asymptomatic and shit and possibly infect those of us who have a sense of reason, not so much.
There are times governments should deny the idiots such activities, no matter their professed beliefs.
He meekly tells everyone that he has asked God to stop the epidemic but obviously God just ignored him. I think it is time for him to act more decisively on behalf of mankind and demand God explain why the hell he created this virus in the first place. Tell God to get his act together and pull his finger out and to start acting more like a benevolent dictator and less of a big bully with a bad attitude. I want to see the pope shaking his fist at the sky, yelling expletives. He looks ridiculous now but if he did that at least we'd all get a bit of a chuckle.
"He meekly tells everyone that he has asked God to stop the epidemic "
Funny that almost like he was just talking to himself
Don't forget the funny hat!
LOL, a very pointy hat for an equally pointy and empty head.
To calm the panic response of the believers he is surrounded by, otherwise they might decide to melt the throne right?
Should be using masks
Yep, in the case of Catolick Priests, concrete ones with NO air holes or vents.
@Triphid You should probably have your name sent for a prayer request
It really doesn't concern me as to what the pope does or doesn't do. With that being said, why would anyone care?
If he thinks his god is going to protect him, that's fine, and when he gets sick and dies that'll only prove that he wasn't god's special little person.
When he tells his flock that he has talked to their god and everything is going to be okay, maintaining quarantine will be impossible.
@Surfpirate Has he done that yet? And even if he does, those that follow his advice has literally thrown away their common sense and rationality will die.
I do. Maybe a missing (or dead) pope at this time would be good. Imagine if all the cardinals were banned from sitting and electing a new one. The world would be Pope Free.
@TheMiddleWay I've seen this before and without the cardinals meeting in secret, I doubt it.
A delusional person with good intentions
And the road to hell is paved with what? He broke quarantine and went to church, is he not giving a nod for his followers to do the same, especially now that he has had his little chat with his/their god and things are going to be okay now?
He's usually the one in "lock down". I would imagine that this is a rare opportunity for him to be able to move about more freely.
Yet, I do tend to agree with you, and he should be a demonstrator of good behavior.
These folks specialize in spreading disease . . . .
He thinks he’s got immunity...the boss told him!
But God created it all and the Pope is Gods rep on Earth, therefore he is custodian and property manager for the Almighty, ergo he can go wherever he wants to ensure the tenancy agreements are not being breached.
Sp the pope has asked GOD to stop the coronavirus so we should be good now. This thing will be over by the weekend now that GOD is on it.
Well he did such a great job with Ebola, this should be a snap.
