Do you agree with his theory that it is not incivility but rather disconnectedness that is the problem? What about his ideas about game theory?
Some interesting points but the specifics of hoarding are, I think, better explained by the game "prisoner's dilemma". Without communication, for the individual the choice is: hoard and have enough or don't hoard and maybe have enough vs neither hoard and we'll probably have enough and just you hoard and I don't have enough. Clearly there are better outcomes for the individual to hoard. If we had greater levels of community communication we could negotiate a share agreement but that possibility of communication doesn't exist in western culture.
I can understand the hand sanitizer, but not the TP. Wish he had left that out.
This society's Ostensible civility has been acid-washed away since 2016, in fact probably since "the nigger" got elected. Ignoring this does not help. And fanned by real nasty "leadership", like MoscowMitch, to the major detriment of all!
Interesting talk but not going to the root of things. Including the xenophobia that is hard-wired inside us, which has been well-documented.
