So today I told someone, ‘no furries’. The person looked up furries and came up with a totally different meaning to original. What do you think?
I think this new trend is kind of endearing:
[google.co.uk]
By the way, my meaning of, ‘no furries’ is a variation of the Australian term, ‘no worries’ with the f standing for an implied extra word, but the Aussies already know this
I shared a 3 part podcast about furries recently on here. It was about Nazis infiltrating them but also had alot about the furries themselves. I came away very pro Furry and feeling bad for making jokes about them in the past.
Thanks for that, I really enjoyed the second link. I hope to dip back in and and hear the other parts soon.
Actually the full aussie term is "no wucking furries". Furries rhymes with worries. A transposition of the first letters to make it socially acceptable. In many cases that's now evolved to just "no furries".
That’s the one
Furries come to Pittsburgh every year. People dress up in furry animal costumes. Kind of strange?
Kind of, but when looking at Social Trends I always tend to look at implications: harm vs benefits. In the scheme of things I think the furries impact is quite positive, and may even help people worry about physical features less, which must be nice for some.
@girlwithsmiles hey, I don't have anything against them, actually it gives a boost to business when they are here.
Never heard of any problems from them ! So. If it makes them happy , go for it.
We also have Pensik warriors come to the area once a year !
@Buddha internet searching is leaving me none the wiser, I’m afraid you’ll have to tell me about the Pensik warriors
@girlwithsmiles I'm sorry, my spelling!
Pennsik.... Medieval warriors. It last 2 weeks , and they draw worldwide..
@Buddha well that sounds interesting. I went to one for the day when living near it in Australia, the Abbey Festival, largest in the Southern Hemisphere apparently, but it was very friendly and well spread out.
@girlwithsmiles this one can't be attended by spectators. You have to pay the 2 week fee , from what I understand, and you can't get in unless you are in costume. They , for the most part, adopt the personna. They do like their alcohol with a specific attraction to Meade..
@Buddha serious stuff I’m a big fan of mead.
