Walmart Parking lot Encounter
With my pharmacy bag in one hand and leaning on my cane, I must have looked harmless enough, because an old man with stubble and sore eyes came up to me and said," " Mumps and chickenpox, we had them all. We survived them. None of this stuff."
I said politely," how are you, sir? " Yes, we did, until they came up with the vaccine."
"Do you think this is any worse?" he said.
I said, " yes, this virus is much deadlier."
"It is a government conspiracy," said the old woman who snuck up behind me.
" I think it"s a conspiracy to get rid of all us older people."
"I have a stent, says the old man, "and I had cancer two times,"
"There you go", I say, "you are a survivor." Just stay away from people for a while and wear a mask, like your wife here,."
I was assuming she was the wife.
They were shuffling along but stopped to look at me when I said:" and stop watching Fox news."
Lia and I got into my car, Lia said," the man called you a communist,"
Sure, I said, "but I'd rather be a communist than an idiot."
I don't know why random people pick on me. It has happened several times so far this year. I will have to learn to scowl.
Do you wear a sign saying, "annoy me"?????? This sucks!
I hope not, but I used to give public workshops on dealing with chronic illnesses and got lots of exposure in our rural area that way.
We are all "communists", some of us just don't know it.
I was told by several friends that I have that aura of being a caring person (little do they know.) So people tell me stuff All. The. Time. I wish I could find the repellent or turn off the aura. I think you did good, you spoke your truth and if they think you're a communist, then I'm one too. I hope they didn't deliver any unexpected vermin to you.
Get that scowl going!
I never cease to be amazed how idiotic people can be. I imagine the person has a lot of deep seated resentment and takes it out on those who appear more content than he.
I'm proud to say that I have never set-foot in a Walmart.
I don't think that was her point. Not all of us can be selective about where we shop.
@HippieChick58 That (mine) was an "I" statement, no accusation intended.
That's where I buy my insulin.
