Watched a superb documentary yesterday, "The Secret Life of Chaos.". It showed how the separate, but complementary work of three different mathematicians and physicists from different parts of the world have created a clear and provable picture of organizing principles of physical reality. Those principles state the following:
From sameness eventually comes differentiation.
From differentiation comes separate , but often interrelated organizations. Examples include galaxies, gas clouds. and individual stars for one example. Another is ecosystems, complex biological organisms and their body structures , and microbes.
Within organized systems, unpredictable, random variations will inevitably occur which cannot be predicted in form, location or time.
Those variations will create temporary chaos in the system in which it occurs, and will inevitably lead to he formation of an adapted organization. If that organization functions well in the environment in which it exists, it will persist. If, the organization will failure to match will leader the structure of go out of existence -- die, implode, explode, disintegrate.
That is so simple, so profound, and so beautiful. It simply says that the organizing principle of all reality -- physical or biological -- is evolution. That is not theory, but fact. To me, to deny that is to deny basic reality.
This along with the other research I have been doing puts it all together. Amazing that you would put this up and that I would find it and have the reaction to it I am having. I wish there was a transcript.
Unfortunately, for those who deny science, logic, & the evolutionary principles of the universe, their minds are forever deprived of understanding the complexities of their reality. And their resulting confusion causes them to cling to their counter-productive traditions even more. This creates a sorry state indeed for all the rest of us to contend with.
That Curiosity Stream is really great, isn’t it? I never really thought much about fungi before (I don’t like eating mushrooms), or bubbles, but I sure do now, after having watched the documentaries about them. Just really fascinating stuff on so many subjects.
It seems to be that artificial intelligence will have a very hard time with any chaos created.
It would take any system of artificial intelligence to take everything, in all of their complexities, into account. Without that capacity all AI will ultimately fail.
When creationist tell me I think we had to be designed as we could not live if physics were slightly different. I tell them that yes in fact we evolved and have life as we know it because we had to due to the laws of physics.
