Vonnegut was right about so much. I was powerfully affected by his novel Slaughterhouse Five, and by some of the essays in his collection Wampeters, Foma and Granfalloons. Two of the essays in particular, Biafra: a People Betrayed (about British and Russian genocide in Nigeria), and Address to Graduating Class at Bennington College, 1970 are particularly powerful. WARNING: do not read these if you want to be cheered up.
