WTF, they only get suspended without pay, anyone notice just quickly they move enforce to clear the camera crew away?
If that elderly bloke had hit the deck any harder chances are he'd be suffering a very severe injury to the back of his skull or be dead.
I count 3 bullies in uniform 'tackling' one very old, somewhat frail looking gentleman who was most probably just trying to walk away peacefully minding his own business.
At the very LEASt those 3 blue uniformed BULLIES should be charged with Assault Causing Possible Grievous Bodily Harm.
Judging as nurse with quite a bit of experience in working with and around the Elderly I'd say that, judging by his appearance, the manner of is walking style and his body build that he is around the mid to late 70's- early 80's in age, has suffered a stroke sometime in the last 2-5 years, is quite unsteady on his feet normal because of the stroke, might just weigh in at around 110 to 123 pounds dripping wet and should been escorted along instead of being shoved aside like some piece of garbage.
IF i were a Lawyer where ever that happened, I'd be taking on his case, Pro Bono, and suing the arses off of those cops for everything and anything legal possible and that'd be just for starters.

I agree but it only happened 10PM Thursday.That's a pretty quick suspension. Within minutes. I was struck by the lack of empathy. The one officer tries to check on the victim and is shoved away by the Sgt gold shield. No compassion. The victim is 75 years old. What a piece of shit!

So what ever happened the the slogan, 'to serve and protect?' How is it that all these officers could ignore the poor old man, bleeding from his head? Why couldn't one (just one, please) officer immediately render aid to the injured man who was a victim of police violence?
The training, lockstep attitudes, militaristic behavior, thin blue line, lack of transparency, etc. involving our police--and let's be real here, our taxes pay their salaries, so the police work for us--are in need of deep revision, if not a total reset. Never forget that we (all citizens) are the 'customers' of the police, and they need to understand that!

Sadly though it seems put a uniform on any latent bully, give him/her a mere sniff of Authority and WHAMMO up jumps another Dictatorial type of arse-hole who thinks they are immediately licensed by law to be the King of Kings, God of Gods and can never ever be wrong or do wrong and with a crowd of their own kind behind them they can walk all over everyone else with total impunity.
@Triphid A uniform doesn't inherently alter behavior. I served in uniform as a member of the armed forces, and I know a good number of firemen who remain 'themselves' (true to their character) while wearing the uniform. There's nothing inherently different from the uniform of a police officer and that of an airline pilot. It's all about training, expecations, accountability and integrity.
Policemen once walked the streets armed only with a baton and a whistle. I believe that something sinister has infected the training, behavior and attitudes of numerous police forces. I have a number of close friends who serve, or have served as police officers, including San Franciso and surrounding areas, and I consider them good and decent people. They have expressed feelings of disgust and anguish at the behavior by bad cops.
@p-nullifidian Yep, join the club, I too have worn a number of 'uniforms' in my life-time, a nurses uniform for many years working as a qualified nurse, a uniform as a member of the Australian Commonwealth Police, the uniform of a Stand-by Pilot for the R.F.D.S., the uniform of a Volunteer in the N.S.W. State Emergency Services and the uniform of a Member of the N.S.W. State Rail Authority Rail Derialment and Disaster Rescue Teams.
In those uniforms I seen and known quite a number of people who do the 'morph' trick once they change from their 'civvies' in to uniforms as well as those who do NOT do the 'morph' also.
And though I dislike sounding my own trumpet, I am one of those who remains exactly the same in 'civvies' as I was in uniform, i.e. peaceful, helpful, caring, community-minded human being.
