πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜„πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜„πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜„πŸ˜‚People Are Angry That the Archbishop of Canterbury Said Jesus Wasn’t White
Archbishop Justin Welby said, correctly, that different cultures often showcase a different color Jesus and implied that it was incorrect to depict Jesus as white when it would be more accurate to show Him as Middle Eastern.

Bond haired, blue eyed Jesus with a bleeding heart on the outside of his chest! The imagery that used to hang on every Catholic wall in every corner of the world that their missionaries had managed to penetrate. It still does hang on plenty of walls in Africa, South America and the Philippines! Granted Welby’s C of E has more restrained imagery, but it’s still more Anglo-Saxon than Levantine.

There's a joke in Ireland about a road in Belfast city where there are protestants on one side of the road with guns shooting at the Catholics on the other side of the road. And the Catholics on the other side of the road are shooting at the protestants. And Jesus walks down the middle of the road and said.....don't shoot......don't shoot...I'm Jewish

and both sides shout "but are you Catholic Jew or a Protestant Jew?"

@LenHazell53 You know the north of Ireland well. lol

...so will there ever be one Ireland again? Do you think?

@TimeOutForMe Not if what the public in the south are thinking NOW. Everyone in the South used to want a united Ireland. But things have changed. The South has become very socially liberal and secular with gay marriage and Pro choice legislation now in place. People look at the North as a place with bigotry and religious conservatism and are not so sure about wanting to unite anymore. Maybe the young people of the north will change that and bring change, but it could take generations for that to happen. For now it's not a big issue anymore. So I think a united Ireland is a long way off and nobody is really that bothered about it to be honest

@dermot235 Thanks for your informed response πŸ‘

@OwlInASack A lot of people I know have become apathetic about a united Ireland. They are tired of hoping that the north will progress and leave it's bigotry behind. It's not happening. It's a shame

@dermot235 Tell me about it...I live there! 😱😁

I am continually surprised that any debate exists concerning Jesus' race. But I suppose that it is human nature to create gods in our own images.

Gawd in my own mirror, he/she/it couldn't possibly be any different........

Yes, that sums it up nicely.

Then there are the"Christian" white supremacist and Anti-semitic racists who go to church to worship Jesus who was a jew. Figure that one out.
