Has anybody ever taken the time to consider the daylight robbery undertaken by the New Zealand government in subjecting motorists to multiple payments in auto registration fees.......Once these have initially been paid, and all the relevant information has been recorded, the government sees fit, after a predetermined time has passed, to suddenly inform you that your registration is now null and void, and under penalty of a substantial fine , make it illegal for you to continue to use your vehicle.............This law is an outrageous act of extortion, it is simply a money grabbing con. and has no excuse to warrant it....
Imagine this, going to a DMV location in SoCal at 6am, an hour before it opens, there is a line around the building. You are there for 3 hours before the person you finally need to see reads your info, gives you a piece of paper to fill out and points you to another line to give it to. My average cost at the CA DMV was around $350. Up to 6 hours at the location. I suspect your Kiwi DMV is more a left hand-right hand situation than actual fraud. It can't be as expensive as a CA DMV even with fraud.
