I'm suddenly amazed realizing the foods I hated as a child . Are now foods I can't get enough of. anybody else
My dad was a decent cook but everything was cooked to death & loaded with grease. My mother would fuck up the recipe for ice. The foods from my childhood either got left behind or got a recipe makeover. & now that i have to avoid gluten, even more have been left behind.
I used to eat poorly and never ate much healthy food. As part of a lifestyle change, I started eating much better, veggies, fish, etc, food I never ate much. It's all in the spices and cooking method. Many combinations available to make healthy tasty meals.
Nope. I still hate eggplant.
@Akfishlady Plus you get the seeds.
I can still remember the first time I ever ate an olive, and how disgusted at the flavour and incredulous that anyone could possibly enjoy eating such a thing I was. Maybe ten years later, I tried another olive - and now, I'd be perfectly happy if all food tasted like olives.
My tastes havent changed much from my childhood. I loved rum then and I still love rum now! I will say that although I still don't like unions raw I love to cook with them as an adult.
I eat broccoli, asparagus, zucchini, and brussel sprouts now. I still don't like spinach, though.
Spinach was the only vegetable I liked when i was a kid - I still like it now, but there are others I like too these days.
Same, especially spinach and avocado
Ditto! Mm Mmmgh!
I got sick on canned beets as a child--maybe I liked them too much. However, years later, I enjoy them occasionally.
