If you think wearing a mask doesn’t help, still wear it as you’re told & shut up about it. I worked 8 hrs yesterday, 7 of which I wore my mask. This seems to be a common theme among A LOT of whinny, crybaby conservatives...!!

I’m not entirely sure about the people who can’t wear a mask due to health complications. I’m mainly talking about the whinny conservatives who complain about wearing masks because it’s “taking away their freedom” or they think it’s a hoax.

You can't wear a mask if you have bone spurs.

If you can't deal with a mask, wait until you try a ventilator.

I think we should tease them mercilessly.

Lots of people, even good people, have trouble believing things they can't see. Like the tugging of a fish on a fishing line. Fortunately, humans (most humans) can "see" with more senses than their eyes.

@VeronicaAnn yeah, well that's another thing. Their psyche isn't based on evidence (visual or not). I think, for them, it's a desperate need to belong to a group. They get their self esteem from that membership.

Right-wing idiots who refuse to wear a mask are selfish and ignorant. I feel angry when I see people with a mask under their nose. It's like cutting off the tip of your condom. Masks are required in Washington State.

This pandemic is bringing out the worst and best in people.

I laughed when I read a pastor who preached against mask-wearing recently died of COVID-19 in the South. Natural selection.

I was sitting in the car at the hospital waiting for Kate to finish her therapy. I heard two men discussing the fact that there are a number of thing that kill people and we do not do anything about that, tjhe flu, car accidents, people getting cancer and heart problems. I did not interfere with the conversation, but I would have asked if they could do something that would keep a number of those people alive, would they do it. I did not want to start a hoohaa.

I agree with your post 100 %. The government at state level is trying to help people, despite genacidal babies that refuse to for non medical reasons. I wear mine,because my work place and state says I have to. Only person I wear it for is my my favorite wrestler Dana Brooke for we can meet one day when this bull shit calms down or goes away.

I've pissed people off for telling them, " The worst thing about the mask mandate is listening to a bunch of babies cry about it." We give up certain "freedoms" for the good of society, you can't drive you car through playgrounds, or race through residential neighborhoods; you can't drop bricks of overpasses into traffic; and you can't go skeet shooting in city parks. It's understood that allowing certain freedoms is a bad idea.

@VeronicaAnn Thankyou! That's good to hear.

Or, perhaps they feel that the response is an over-reaction to the actual danger. That, while Covid is a problem and a danger, nowhere near the cataclysmic armagedon-esque plague it seems to be treated as.

C'mon, in March some sources were predicting minimum fatalities in the millions in the US alone. It has been a significant problem, but I try to be patient with those who were promised a new black plague that would kill 10-20% of the worlds population, and even more if the entire world didn't go on a complete lockdown right now, and only got this.

200k deaths in the US is horrible, but very underwhelming compared to what "experts" were predicting in March. So if some think "Only 200k fatalities? What was all the fuss about?" I can just laugh at them and shake my head.

Well tRump thought covid19 was a hoax.

People who hate masks....

I wear a mask and I have no problems breathing...

I have breathing problems but I wear a mask. I know I don't have to but I try.

5

I have severe asthma, I still wear the mask and it actually lessens asthma. I think 99.999% have no medical issues preventing wearing one except the reasons in their head.

I used to sneeze a lot at work. I sneeze a hell of a lot less with a mask on.

@JimG sounds like an allergy!

@Larimar It's dusty. I don't have any other allergy symptoms.

Conservatives are whimpering snowflakes, and they're projectionist.

Looking across the ocean from Europe, people here are jaw dropping amazed, that masks could even be an issue. Yes there are a few lazy selfish a######s here who can't be bothered, but they are seen as just the cheap stupid freaks they are.

It is not a political issue, it is just a couple of pieces of paper and some elastic, it is not the government wanting to abolish the freedom of the press, introduce forced national service or take away peoples voting rights. Does anybody think that those same people who protest masks, would be bothered to rouse themselves and go out on the streets about those issues.

@Fred_Snerd Sure?

If not wearing a mask is a "freedom" we've been sending young people to fight and die for .... I'd say we've been asking them to fight and die for a pretty shitty reason.

Not arguing with you, but we have been sending (not so much asking) them for some pretty shitty reasons over the past 50 years.

@Normanbites

Natural selection. This pandemic is bringing out the best and worst in people.

I laughed when a right-wing pastor who preached against mask-wearing recently died of COVID-19.

Living in a rural area, I see many people wearing a mask under their nose. It's like cutting off the tip of your condom. Masks are required in WA State.

People who are citing "health complications" as an excuse not to wear a mask are full of shit.
I know folks with asthma, COPD, and scleroderma, who ALL wear masks when they're out. If they can, everyone else can, too.
Medical professionals wear masks all day long.

Those whiny little bitches need to shove their excuses, shut up, and quit their bellyachin'.

I too couldn't think of a single health condition that was a legitimate reason to not wear a mask. As an RN working in the respiratory institute of a large hospital system, the more compromised the respiratory status of our patients, the more it is recommended to them that they should be wearing a mask at all times when in public.

@JeffMurray I have a dear friend who is a respiratory specialist. He has told me the same.

Not wearing a mask makes as much sense as refusing to abide by no smoking requirements.
