I cease being a wildlife lover when I chase a 'possum around my garage three nights in a row, think it actually did run out the door, but then find it still there two nights later.
Tonight, it was an epic battle, but the human won.

I love wildlife, just not in the house please. Our German shepherd wouldn't tolerate other critters on the property ... how we miss her.

I'm the same, but I have a rottie. So far as wildlife is concerned I need a sign on the fence which says "abandon all hope ye who enter here". 
We have havahart traps for just such eventualities. You could catch it and release it far enough away that it wouldn't come back. Although I'm not sure what bait you'd use for a possum -- pet food maybe, or peanut butter. Ha, ha.
Sometimes we catch rock squirrels and pack rats out in the juniper bushes near where we park our cars. The first time I caught a pack rat I was afraid it was someone's pet. I couldn't believe something that cute was a wild animal. Lol.

Rats can make excellent pets, but there's a house training problem!
As a child I frequently carried a mouse with me, inside my shirt or in the pocket. It never tried to run away.

@Gwendolyn2018 Fair enough. I live so far out in the woods that I realize it's me who is the invading homewrecker, so when the critters start finding their way in the house when it starts getting cold, or climbing up on my engine to stay warm and chewing wiring harnesses ( like last week) I figure I'm just paying toll for using their place.
@Gwendolyn2018 when the ge in the house, they generally become fast food for my dogs or get chased out, but the cars are usually my own fault when I forget to pop the hoods open when I park after the weather cools down. They're just looking for someplace warm, but if I leave the hood open, they don't like the breeze
@Gwendolyn2018 Not a big fan of wasps. They have zero sense of humor when disturbed
