There is blood on (Wall) street every day. Dow Jones is sinking.
Trump is going around warning voters that if you elect Biden, the stock market will crash, your 401K and retirements will be destroyed.....
Will the ploy succeed? Is this Trump's wild card? Don't say in November that I didn't tell you.
Do Bears shit in the woods, do Bulls shit wherever they please?
The Stock Market is suffering BUT not from the hopefully imminent collapse of the tRump Tyranny but from the effects of the Pandemic as was ONLY to expected.
The damage done to Economy/Stock Market is, imo, a DIRECT result of the mis-management of the Pandemic and closely related to the dithering, bullshit and twaddles that exuded in rivers from the mouth of tRump.
Economies will recover over time, maybe not as they once were but they will recover UNLESS, imo, tRump get re-elected.
The stock market is possibly related to the economy if you are in the top 1 percent category. Otherwise it has very little at all to do with our economy and most of us do not know anyone who has stocks. If we do, they are not talking about having any stock.
A lot of us are taking retirement fund hits.
People who don't understand the economy will believe Trump. He has a way with words.
The question is not if it is right, the question will Trump convert viters on this fear?
@UrsiMajor Not really, not unless you're pulling all your money out. People who hold steady instead of panicking usually fully recover.
I am a finance guy and know stock market does not always work on the fundamentals. It works on fear, panic, hype and it affects real people. It is not true that only the top 1% have stakes in the stock market. Today's common man and woman have retirement funds invested in stocks, bonds and alternatives including in emerging markets and it affects almost everyone.
The fear of a crash is real.
@JeffMurray
People who are close to retirement (although funds in fixed income) do not have the time to wait for a full recovery. I lost a huge chunk in 2008 in stocks and real estate and had to wait for 9 ywars to just get even. The fear of panic and loss is real.
Once again for the folks in the back, the stock market is NOT the economy.
What about common man's retirement funds in mutual funds that include stocks?
Real people's lives were destroyed in 2008 and old people had to come out of retirement to bag groceries to keep up with the expenses.
Doubtful. The majority of people see him as the vile blow hard that he is.
The majority of people? He has the highest average approval rating among own party of any president in the last 70 years.
