What are some ways that religion is starting to decline?
According to wikipedia “In the US Christians will decline from more than 3/4 of the population in 2010 to 2/3 in 2050”.
We don't really gain anything by throwing out one fairytale and taking up another. It's much better to see reality as it is. It's important to note that the U.S. is not the world, and Christianity is not "religion."
"Over the next four decades, Christians will remain the largest religious group, but Islam will grow faster than any other major religion. If current trends continue, by 2050 atheists, agnostics and other people who do not affiliate with any religion – though increasing in countries such as the United States and France – will make up a declining share of the world’s total population."

I like that trend, and I believe it is true, but before discussing it, could you specify your source? Do you have a link?
Thank you.
@Wildgreens Thank you.
I agree with @Varn it's so hypocritical, if you believe humans intrinsically have worth and that everyone should be included in society then Christianity is NOT a good fit for you, they don't want you anyway, they want sheeple.
Good but I hope that other crazy religions decline too.
I agree.
I was hoping the decline would be much faster.
Me too, wishful thinking.
It will take that long? Exhausting.
As long as it’s dying is what’s important.
We are starting to use our thinking skills but I don't see this as really making a difference. Our current political situation and beliefs on it is one example. Jim Jones is yet another. Then we have those whackos that poisoned themselves and just knew they would be picked up by the tail of that comet passing by. Let's not forget Scientology if you think of bizarre religions. All of this is a human cycle of sorts.
I feel that what is on the decline in Christianity is the "up in heaven now" belief. It irks me to death that you might be at a funeral home viewing the body in the casket and some idiot wants to claim the deceased is "in a better place" and that they are "up in heaven now." Are these people blind? Do they not have eyes? If you call them on this they start in making things up. This might be what is in decline right now. Otherwise the religious cycle just continues, and I do have pixies living in my shoes.
Always remember that a great amount of this is caused by the lies we tell our own child and the age we start lying to them. Be true to your children.
After Covid 19 and Trump I think that number will fall a heck of a lot faster, especially since so many believer are willing to use these two as causes worth dieing for.
Well, Trump has damaged the image of religion quite a bit, so let's hope so.
That is 2/3 too much.
Not declining fast enough.
