My brother is a long-time volunteer to transport donor organ material around the world. Many times he takes items both ways, and before Covid had a lovely time during layovers, playng darts in pubs wherever he found himself. Since Covid,he sees alot of hotel rooms & nothing else. However, his trip to Singapore last week was the ultimate. He was escorted off the plane by 5 (five!) Fully-PPE'D & ARMED guards to a windowless vehicle with no access to the driver's area, dropped off the "cargo", under close supervision, then taken directly to his hotel room, (bypassing check in) and told not to leave the room until they came to pick him up in the morning. He believes they left a guard in the corridor but did Not open the door to check! The return to the airport (directly to the portable ramp to the plane's interior) was exactly the same.
Clearly Singapore thinks we are germ-infested vermin, and who can blame them?
Imo they protected themselves and your brother. He was securely transported to and from the airport. No country wants to take a chance given the spread of Covid-19 and its different strains doing the rounds. They have a responsibility to country and kin.
I am not putting them down in any way, nor is he! Just reporting on how low we have fallen
his good work should be his reward not the boo hoo he can't go out and drink now lol travel with a good book
He doesn't drink, he is a world-rated darts player. Thanks for your charming comment
@AnneWimsey sorry I am in a shitty mood should have kept my big mouth shut
unfortunately due to the orange turd we have running this country we actually are a bunch of germ infested verrmin
Kudos to your brother for the work he's doing. I'm sure that was a pretty unnerving experience. I suspect a large part of the world believes that we are germ-infested vermin. Who can blame them, indeed?
