It seems everyday is "National (fill in the blank) Day. National Kissing Day, Sibling Day, Gardening Day, smack yourself in the fucking head day, etc.
What the hell is going on where we can't have one day not be "something"?
No point to the holiday if you still have to go to work...
Exactly! Haha
Capitalism? Where there is a buck to be made?
I was just thinking this today. It's insane. National Table Day? Oh, good.
That is because that is literally true. You could fill an entire calendar with national ____ days. When I did a calendar for my website, I decided to get in on the fun. I created Tax Day (traditional) for April 15. Bad Check Day is April 16. Tax Day (observed) is on the 17th.
There are so many ____ days that they often overlap. So putting together a calendar was a lot of fun. I had my choice of absurd days.
By the end of the Roman Empire half the year was holiday.
See the parallel?
wow, I see many other parallels as well. Where is the Roman Empire now?
@Rugglesby where we’re headed.
But with more climate disaster and nuclear weapons
Today is a day IDC about. Just another Friday. I'm not superstitious.
Why does it bother you? You are under no obligations in any way.
It doesn't "bother" me. I just think it's kind of overkill.
Its the Greeting Card Industry selling more product - creating more skus by building new categories (holidays)
You won the internet today.
You are correct, most days are actually "__day" because politicians have them declared so by special interests, or to curry favor with a band of followers. Get one of those calendars that list them call out from work more often!
I hereby declare today "I Don't Give a Fuck What Day it is Today Day". Better?
