How many of you older people listen to current pop music, or is it only "noise" to you?

Seems like most people stop listening to current popular music at some point and only listen to music from their high school and college years.

I don't listen to much current music; I think most of it is whiny bullshit. Hey, if that reason is good enough for Morrissey, it's good enough for me!!

Popular music took a bad turn in the 90's. Grunge was just people who couldn't play their instruments and by the 2 thousands country music turned into bad pop music. There is a finite number of ways chords can be put together and it has pretty much been done.

Grunge...People who can't play? Dunno about that one.

@nvrnuff They play at a high school level at best. They may have been better than that, but it is not the way they played. I have never heard a grunge band and thought any of them were competent much less great players. If it moves you it moves you, and that is what counts.

@Sticks48 Yeah, well, whatever.

Not me. Got into grunge, my friends listen to 80s stuff. I listen to some current stuff.

Me, too! It's "way popular" on the Thai MTV channel.

I haven't liked pop since I got into my teens.

What's this "older people" crap??? 🙂

I listen primarily to classic rock but there are some current artists I like such as Lady Gaga and Pink. I also like Meghan Trainer and some of Bruno Mars stuff.

You just named some of my favorite singers.

Probably true. I do sometimes listen to music from the 1960s through 1970s, but most of the time I listen to classical music today. Yes, I do consider most of today's pop music noise.

I listen to some of the current stuff - some I like - some not so much. Never could get into rap. But I kinda know what you're saying - in younger years, I could not drive anywhere without the radio playing. These days, I only turn it on if I'm on a long road trip. I think the music of the 80's was the best.....and I will freely admit to being older than dirt. hahaha 😉
