I am growing weary of viewing posts of scantily clad females when I browse posts . This site is littered with this junk . I am no prude but I did not join agnostic. 4 years ago to view these type of posts . Can I block this content . I went to settings and do not see a way to do this .
Same here, and after awhile this whole site gets on my nerves.
What do you expect from a site that has a group called sexual deviants LOL
What are you viewing that shows you ALL new posts from ALL groups?
And why would you want to?
UPDATE: Just saw that the admins have stopped new posts in that group until they can prevent it from auto posting to the "new" page. So, the sharing was not deliberate.
I am having to see them too. It's sort of obnoxious, since I am not a group member and have hidden said group. For some reason, they come through on the general/new posts feed. I assume the posters are choosing that option. (It's a box I can check when I post in groups I am a member of).
That said, I can block the sender(s).
Yes, it seemed to me to be some people were purposely requesting the posts to be served up in the general feed rather than directing them to be posted only to the groups focused on that type of content.
It annoys me too, for the same reasons as you. I just scroll down and ignore them now. Plenty of content like this on the internet should that be the interest. It's not like they're scantily clad atheist females, or anything relevant.
I wonder how scantily clad female atheists differ from non-atheist scantily clad females except in their respective natural endowments, which, logically has nothing to with their religious status...LOL
You block them, or see them... it's up to you...I blocked them long ago.. Get over it..
I almost never see things like that on this site. I must be doing something wrong.
I had to block group, poster, and/or deselected image preview for the daily feed.
Yeah, and I hate the outfit and wtf is that rabbit doing?
I agree. I was able to adjust my settings to avoid the bulk of it, but I still just don't understand why we have so many people posting photos for no other reason except to exploit womens bodies. This takes away from my enjoyment of this humanistic site.
If I was here for dating purposes, at least those posts and those who enjoy them in this setting would point out the people I'd want to avoid dating.
Other's preferences needn't align with yours.
@Rossy92 Big difference between healthy sexuality and exploitation, both of which are open to interpretation and may have fine lines to some, but very clear lines to those recovering from sexual trauma, trafficking, sextortion, etc.
Humanisim to me means respect rather than exploitation. Your experiences are likely very different than mine, hence my discomfort in seeing photos meant to degrade a person sexually into an object rather than an equal partner. Touchy subject for some of us, and obviously not for some. Your idea of a "victimless crime" may be very different to a person who has been victimized to achieve the look of said "victimless" crime.
@Julie808 Indeed it is very open to interpretation, and I see this as no more an exploitation than the time and sweat one might put into working for an employer. And if one has no employer (for but one example, let's say in more primitive times), there is still time effort that you will expend for survival. It's simply the way it is. Not to discount legitimate claims of abuse and coercion of minors, or even unfair employment practices, I believe much of the claims of "exploitation" are simply holdovers of a puritanical Abrahamic religious ethic which puts a negative value judgment on any sort of sexuality outside of its narrow confines. Witness the guilt and shame which can be placed on the natural act of masturbation, certain early sexual encounters which though they should not be condoned, the primary psychological harm comes from the way the parenting adults heap on the unnecessary damage with their unnatural value judgments. Then there are the extreme examples of cultures which actually go so far as to dishonor a woman who is actually raped. But I would put the quotation marks around the "crime" in victimless crime. As I'm aware that others feel very differently, I try to remain open to their view of exploitation. But so far I've encountered no compelling argument.
Agree with all you stated .Some groups ( I say SOME) started and added to the original site 4 years ago ruined agnostic.com .
