Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.They flipped. As late as the 60's George Wallace was a Democrat. The racists abandoned the Republican party when Civil Rights legislation was passed. It really shifted over the next decade.
FDR was a very good Democratic President, though.
