You do know that correlation does not necessarily imply causation?
In the Middle East, US regime change and wars have caused millions of deaths and instability. This insecurity has prompted increased religiosity.
So while your correlation is true sometimes, its reverse causation is also true. Deaths and insecurity lead to rise in religion.
Capitalism, imperialism, and the insecurity they cause promote the growth of religion as a solace and as an attempted solution to the problems they create. Of course religion creates additional problems. But the creation of a more just world will lead to a dramatic drop in religion.
"Progressives, Socialists, and Black/Palestinian Lives Matter"
Hi. Your comment reminds me of "Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people".
When it is a question of fighting against imperialism we can state with conviction that we are all Stalinists. We can take pride that we have taken part in the fight for the advance of our great cause against our enemies. From that point of view I am proud that we are Stalinists.
I see your point even as I’m confused by the arguments about the maps.
Are you serious ? The UK is more religious than the USA. Come on. The USA is a peaceful country ?, Ask the citizens of Iraq, Vietnam, Cambodia,Afghanistan, and on and on.
Spain least religioso? Check your Data again!!!!
It looks like the UK, France and Spain need to take a chill pill otherwise they were doing okay.
Um...when we're they doing okay? India and Middle East might disagree for UK. Vietnam and Northern Africa would question France's pacifism and Spain hasn't been the same since UK sank their Armada.
meh, so is politics though, i guess?
how do 30 million (or whatever) "atheist" russians decide to sacrifice everything defending themselves from tiny little germany, i often wonder
You mean USSR involvement in WWII? Tiny Little Germany? You mean The Third Reich? SMDH
